The Specifics

2 x rooms
2 x hrs per week
4 x weeks
Adults together
Young People together

Young People

Young people will have a dedicated room, where they’ll engage in group learning providing time to connect with their peers. In doing so we hope they’ll learn to validate their own feelings, identify what their needs are and how to express them in healthy, helpful ways.

They’ll then be invited to take part in group movement to help them connect with their body. We’ll vary the movement classes to ensure there’s something for everyone… from a combat class, to something slower such as mindfulness. At the end of the 2 hours they’ll reunite with their parent.

6.00pm - Welcome & check in
6.15pm - Group learning hour
7.15pm - Group movement
8.00pm - Close

Adults

Adults will have their own room where they’ll engage in psychoeducation, aimed at helping them identify their role in the family dynamic. We’ll aim to inspire, inform and educate, in a blame free space.

This will be followed by process and reflection time, allowing participants to consider what they’ve heard, its personal impact, and reflect on how their own experiences and behaviours shape the family dynamic. At the end of the 2 hours they’ll reunite with their child.

6.00pm - Group learning hour
7.00pm - Group process & reflection
7.45pm - Check out
8.00pm - Close

Ready to reconnect? - Sign up by 25th August to join the next Full Circle Family group starting 25th September. Spaces are limited to keep the group supportive and intimate.

Adult Information

What kind of things will I learn about?
We'll dedicate each learning hour to exploring essential foundations for connection and psychoeducation, beginning with ‘attunement’ – the essential skill of understanding and responding to your child. We’ll help you identify barriers to connection and provide strategies for building deeper relationships. In later phases of the programme we'll also address vital topics like self-esteem and conflict resolution, informed by key psychological and theoretical principles.

How is this different from a parenting course?
We aren’t in the business of telling you how to parent. We believe you want to be the best parent you can be, and by arming you with some key psychological principles this will invite introspection in you to determine what may be getting in your way. This isn’t a one size fits all…

How is this different from group therapy?
A reflective process group is a structured space for reflection and shared learning, rooted in psychological theory, but unlike group therapy, it’s not designed for clinical treatment—it focuses on personal insight, connection, and growth within a peer or professional context.

Can more than one parent attend?
To ensure a balanced group dynamic only one parent/caregiver can attend the programme. If a second parent wishes to attend, we will work with you to offer a solution.

As a two-parent family, how should we choose who comes?
When deciding which parent should attend, there are several factors to consider. Consistent attendance across all 4 weeks is essential. We can also discuss this further with both of you during our pre-program review to help you decide. You might want to think about your individual relationship with your child and who feels they would gain the most from the program.

How will you safeguard the wellbeing of my child?
At Full Circle we take child wellbeing very seriously, and this is why we have developed a robust Safeguarding Policy. A full copy of this can be provided on request. We’ll also discuss this more with you in the pre programme review.

Will I be expected to share personal things in the group?
No, there are no expectations on you other than to turn up with an open mind each week, and openly participate where comfortable to do so.

What can I hope to get out of this programme?
A lot can be achieved in 4 weeks. We’re confident you’ll come away with a refreshed mindset, skills and resources for self managing and connecting with other family members, as well as increased self awareness. Our hope is that this will lead to better ways of tackling challenges within your family. You’ll also learn something new from both peers and faciliators, meet likeminded parents with similar struggles, and get to experience what it’s like to have a space dedicated to your needs.

What happens after the programme?
We will meet with you for a post programme review to discuss next steps. This isn't the end of our support; we will also let you know about other forms of assistance we can provide. You may find that your or your child wish to engage in one to one therapy, or decide to do some movement together. We will work with you to help you decide on your next steps and make them a reality.

Young People Information

What can I expect each week?
When you arrive, you'll meet the other young people in a room and we'll do a quick 'check-in.' You can share how you're feeling or what your day was like…it's just a way to get comfortable and ready for the group. You’ll then participate in a learning hour, covering the same theme that your parent next door will be learning about. We’ll do this in an engaging and interesting way…there won’t be a powerpoint in sight! Next, we'll have a movement session – a fun way to de-stress and connect with your body. Remember you won’t be alone and there will be other young people there in the same boat as you. Also don’t forget to wear your trainers!

What if I don’t want to participate in the group movement?
Each week's movement activities will offer something different, as we believe that moving your body is a powerful way to care for yourself, and we'd love for you to join in. However, please know that you'll never be pressured to do anything you're not comfortable with. We're also committed to making adjustments to ensure everyone can participate comfortably, regardless of ability.

What can I hope to get out of this programme?
We hope you leave with a better sense of how people connect and what you might need to feel more understood and supported. We know being in your teenage years isn't easy, and over these 4 weeks, we think you'll get to know yourself better and learn how to tell your family members what you need. We’re also confident you’ll make some new friends, get rid of some stress, and have a lot of fun. During your group time, your parent will be in their own group, focusing on their personal growth and gaining insights into how they can better support both themselves and you.

Movement

Group movement is a chance for young people to release stress, improve their mood, and gain confidence. We’ll be offering a variety of options such as combat, bodyweight exercises and mindfulness! It's not about competition or being 'good' at it…it's about enjoying the group experience.

Collaboration

Families thrive when everyone feels seen, supported, and safe. Psychoeducation aims to equip all participants with the tools to understand and regulate their emotions, leading to improved communication within their family unit.
